THE FOURTH DAY OF PARIS FASHION WEEK BROUGHT US THE LATEST GLITTERING COLLECTION FROM FRENCH FASHION HOUSE, LOEWE, BY JONATHON ANDERSON. FROM HIGH-WAIST PANTS TO LEATHER JUMPSUITS; ASTHETIK MAGAZINE REVIEWS THE RUNWAY.
Highsnobiety labelled the show as, "ONE FOR THE GLITTER BOIS," from the sunglasses to the tops, down to the trousers and shoes, Anderson's models were decked out in all things sparkly. It was true, Loewe really shined this season, displaying their Spring-Summer 2024 collection at La Garde Républicaine's equestrian arena in Paris earlier this morning.
Troye Sivan, Bryan Boy and Emily Ratajakowski all came in attendance to the show in support of Jonathon Anderson - creative director of the house - for his 10th year at the world-renowned, trend-pushing brand. Pharrell Williams was also spotted on the front row (flexing his latest keepall bag which seems to follow him wherever he goes) after debuting his first collection for fellow LVMH fashion house, Louis Vuitton a few days prior.
The runway was soon in full flow. Models walking around a fantastic sparkling water-feature which took centre stage, in keeping with the theme of glistening fashion. Leather one piece jumpsuits in various colours and ultra-high-waisted pants were a staple, after last seasons lack of trousers, it was a surprise to see. Nevertheless, they complimented the colour-block sweaters which were a recurring motif of the show.
Loewe is known for its leather craftsmanship and this collection didn't disappoint, with the runway plentiful of hand-crafted pieces like many shows before. Buckled tote-bags with metallic details were carried throughout in differing colours, other models baring a shoulder-strapped handbag with the iconic Loewe twills at the end of the tassels.
Overall, rhinestones and craftsmanship were the main takeaways from this jaw-dropping collection, showing off nothing more than Loewe's continues ability to create something somewhat simple to the highest degree of excellence. We have seen this many times over and till this day, Anderson hasn't disappointed.
