A selection of boss-ass suits worn by iconic fashion figures graced the brilliantly designed Saint Laurent runway earlier this year, reminding the public of females' power within their line of work, wherever it may lie — statement pieces, for real.
For that section of the show, we applaud. The oversized features and slacking shoulders pieced together to give us slouched haute-la-mode; though the other pieces were neither here nor there…
Dare we say…. a raid of Grandmother’s closet? Hand-me-down patterns or layered frills - either way, the colours used and stylistic traits were typical of YSL. Garments were designed to perfection and the quality of materials never seems to fail us, but whether or not this dated sentiment to the show affects us directly, the show was designed to amaze.
The set, clothes, and models came together to perfect this runway, and we are excited to see what Yves Saint Laurent will bring us next under the direction of #AnthonyVaccarello. Or will it look similar once more… wowing clothes, but not from a perspective of this creative’s timeline of designs?
What do you think about the show? Are we falling back in time? Was the show top-rated due to Bella’s return? Let us know below!
